LPC Supervisor (Psychiatry)
JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor responsible for training and supervising LPC-Associates in a child and family therapy training clinic, as well as, with the Texas State Board. This professional will also be evaluating individual and family needs, diagnosing, and creating custom treatment plans for own patient caseload.
This is a grant funded position sponsored by the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC). TCMHCC was created by the 86th Texas Legislature to leverage the expertise and capacity of the health-related institutions of higher education to address urgent mental health challenges and improve the mental health care system in this state in relation to children and adolescents.

Education
Master's degree with major coursework in the field of assignment is required.
Experience can not be substituted for degree.
Experience
Five (5) years post licensure experience is required.
Two (2) years leading or supervisory experience is required.
Licenses and Certifications
Texas State clinical supervisor designation (LPC-Supervisor) is required.
License to practice mental health counseling independently in the State of Texas is required.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff.
Ability to work independently with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Job Duties
- Provides supervision for provisionally licensed clinicians.
- Facilitates training curriculum for LPC-Associates’ development and growth as clinicians.
- Responsible for clinical supervision and oversight of clinical activities for LPC-Associates in collaboration with the Clinic Manager and faculty members overseeing the program.
- Provides individual, couples and family therapy to improve mental health and coping skills of patients. Evaluates individual and family needs, diagnoses, and creates a custom treatment plans for own patient caseload.
- Develops innovative support and community engaging programs for caregivers and patients to promote mental health and encourage involvement in programs.
- Coordinates with other providers, agencies, and community resources to provide comprehensive care.
- Connects families and caregivers to institute and community resources needed to improve quality of life.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Benefits Overview

Time Off- A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options:
Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
Paid Family Leave: Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after 6 months of consecutive employment.
Holidays: 12 set paid holidays each year plus three floating holidays, which can be used anytime during the fiscal year.
