Job Summary:
This position is located in Laredo, TX and provides general nursing care to patients under the direction of the registered nurse or team leader.
 

Job Duties:

  1. Processes patients into the transplant clinic to include obtaining vital signs and recording health history changes. 
  2. Completes pre-authorizations for medications. Coordinates with physicians, insurance companies and pharmacies. 
  3. Inputs orders for labs or other items as directed by the provider. 
  4. Documents patient visit or procedure in the electronic medical record. 
  5. Performs blood draws, specimen collection, placement of IV for infusion or admissions. 
  6. Responsible for outreach activities in the Laredo area which will include visiting various physician groups in the area and providing them with information on the transplant program.  
Education:
Graduation from a vocational nursing school.  Current State of Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse license.  Bi-lingual (English/Spanish). 
 
Experience:
Five (5) years of vocational nursing experience. 
 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree.  Excellent Communication and computer skills.  Ability to travel to and from San Antonio for training and meetings several times a year.  Reside in Laredo or live within one hour driving distance.
