Job Summary:
Individual will have a major role in the implementation of two initiatives that will improve access by children and adolescents to behavior health services. One is a teleconsultation “hotline’ for primary care providers (pediatrics and family medicine) throughout the region to obtain guidance and referral information from behavioral health specialists. Receive incoming calls and triage as indicated to child psychiatrist, other consultant or address the inquiry and arrange appropriate follow-up, as needed. The second initiative is a telepsychiatry program for schools through which behavioral health specialists provide care directly to referred youth and families. Provide brief therapy and consultation to schools that address the youth’s presenting concerns or facilitate transition to higher level of care. Both projects involve attention to detail in clinical assessment and in the collection and entry of data needed for program evaluation. Also, will be responsible for evaluating individual and family needs after receiving a diagnosis and create a custom treatment plan. Provides individual, couples and family therapy to improve mental health and coping skills. Connect families and caregivers to institute and community resources needed to improve quality of life.

Job Duties:
  1. Evaluates individuals and family's needs after receiving diagnosis and create a custom treatment plan and provide individual, couples and family therapy to improve mental health and coping skills.
  2. Facilitates and leads various therapeutic and support groups for patients and caregivers to develop appropriate coping mechanisms.
  3. Develops innovative support and community engaging programs for caregivers and patients to promote mental health and encourage involvement in programs.
  4. Coordinates with other Providers, agencies and community resources to provide comprehensive care.
  5. Connects families and caregivers to institute and community resources needed to improve quality of life.
Education:
Master's degree in Psychology or related degree is required.

Experience:
Two years of Counseling, Social Work or related experience is required. Minimum two year’s experience providing services to children and adolescents, preferably in medical, behavioral health or school setting. Strong clinical evaluation skills and strengths in short-term, problem-focused interventions. Willingness to travel as needed for liaison with regional health care providers.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with telemedicine, telepsychiatry or similar remote format of service delivery. Competence in delivering health care services in Spanish. Prior program development experience. Teaching or consultation, primary care, multidisciplinary teams and behavioral health integration experience.
