Job Summary:

Oversees all aspects of clinical operations management to include planning, implementing, and supporting the ongoing performance of clinical operations. Will be an integral liaison between UT Health San Antonio and University Hospital Systems and a pivotal player in developing and implementing outreach strategies. Responsible for supporting strategic plans for clinical operations of specified sub-specialty divisions within the Pediatric Heart Center in accordance with the center's operational plans. Position reports directly to the Pediatric Heart Center Director, Pediatric Cardiology Division Chief, and UTHP Director, Clinical Operations.

Job Duties:

  1. Collaborates with medical directors, division chiefs, division administrators, practice managers, revenue cycle teams to ensure economical and efficient clinical and outreach operations.
  2. Provides recommendations for growth plans and feasibility studies in collaboration with Accountable Care Organization (ACO), physician liaisons, and institutional/departmental decision support teams
  3. Coordinates implementation of healthcare outreach efforts for designated regions and serves as a liaison between hospitals and clinical operations
  4. Collaborates with marketing to conduct outreach events and promote practice volumes.
  5. Collaborates with department leadership on improving clinic access by obtaining and analyzing clinical data and developing recommendations.
  6. Collaborate with IT for division IT support.
  7. Maintains and updates appropriate metrics and tracking for in/outpatient volume and reports clinical performance against standard and budget.
  8. Maintain professional relationships with referring physicians and patients.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration or a healthcare-related field is required.
  • Master's degree in Business, Management, Health Care Administration or Nursing, is preferred.

Experience:

  • Six (6) years of physician operation, clinical practice and progressive management experience are required.
  • Preferred 5-7 years of experience in an academic health center, hospital, or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge in academic medicine and the ability to engage and collaborate with physicians is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Epic or other EMRs is preferred. Medical billing background or familiarity is a plus.
