Job Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating system workstations and servers while learning and acting as Jr CACHE Database Administrator.

Job Duties:

      Systems Administration:

  1. Schedules and performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  2. Ensures data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule for system backups and database archive operations.
  3. Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
  4. Assist with standard data & server backups and restorations.

      Cache DBA JR:

  1. Assist in day-to-day Database Administration activities as approved by Senior CACHE DBA
  2. Participates in Cache related portions related to developing, documenting, planning and integration of annual disaster recovery exercises.
  3. Regularly test the validity of database backups at scheduled intervals to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  4. Perform third-party (IMO, Medispan, RXNORM, and SNOMED) data import monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  5. Participates in Cache related portions related to developing, documenting, planning and integration of database and user interface software products into the Cache environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, IT or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in IT and systems administration is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; troubleshooting Windows Server Operating Systems including hardware, OS, and networks.
  • Understanding of server applications and integration with Active Directory and ERP systems.
  • Ability to configure, install, move, wire, and modify server hardware.
  • Experience configuring applications to connect to backend databases using MS SQL.
  • An understanding of SSL with the ability to install and configure certificates.
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Certifications:

  • Ability to obtain an EPIC certification including Epic ODBA Certification, Epic Data Courier Certification, and Epic Chronicles Certification within the specified timeframe identified by Health IT department leadership.
