Job Summary:
Provides functional leadership oversight for the Clinical Information Security Coordinator group and drives application security protocols and process workflows that supports the UT Health clinical practice. 

Job Duties:
  1. Responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of Clinical Information Security Coordinator employees.
  2. Oversees and provides day to day support services for employee Health IT resources, ensuring a high-quality end-user experience.
  3. Manages the fulfillment of Health IT service requests including requests for application security requests, the testing of new applications security and the review of existing application security.
  4. Utilizes online & written materials as well as professional experience to develop, test, maintain, implement, and audit end-user application security.
  5. Performs analysis of business and end-user needs, assessing application configurations, documenting potential risk vectors, recommending controls, documenting requirements, and revising existing application security as necessary under the direction of UT Health Chief Technology Officer.
  6. Assists UTHSCSA Health Physicians departments with application security requests.
  7. Reviews staff reports and progress on projects.
  8. Develops, documents, and adheres to the internal security procedures that will be used with UTHSCSA Health IT applications.
  9. Represents department on institution-wide technology committees and provides support for special applications and projects for the end-users.

Education/Experience Requirements: 
Bachelor's degree in computer related field with at least six (6) years of experience is required. Application security experience in a health care environment may be substituted for education. Epic System software application certification required. Certified Epic Security Coordinator preferred.
