Job Summary:

 

Responsible for completing, and ensuring the quality of all faculty processes as well as supervising a group of staff, as it relates to faculty appointments, promotion and tenure, and other career development activities. Position will be expected to exhibit a specialized level of expertise and understanding of faculty support processes and ensure all related responsibilities are accurately and efficiently fulfilled. Balance managing faculty processes with ensuring departments are receiving excellent customer service.

Job Duties:

  • Provides strong customer support to epartments through the management of faculty appointments, promotion and tenure, and other career development activities.
  • Demonstrates and enforces compliance with the UT Health SA Handbook of Operating Procedures for Faculty support process, protocols, and faculty process forms.
  • Facilitates and oversees initial appointment processes, such as meeting original transcript requirements, monitors proposed start date, adjusts appointment details as needed, ensures appointment requirements are met, etc.
  • Supports and leads Adjunct/Adjoint initial and reappointment processes, proactively monitors adjunct/adjoints to be reappointed, prepares documentation, works with candidate and Chair to obtain required information, reviews packet for completeness, and obtains required approvals.
  • Serves as an information resource for the departmental administrative leadership team.
  • Executes and demonstrates comprehensive understanding of UT Health Careers for all faculty recruiting and appointment processes, such as posting the position, monitoring the post and applications, and continuing in dialogue with hiring entity.
  • Provides the full range of Promotion, Tenure, and Appointment Committee (PTAC) process support, and Post-Tenure Evaluation (PTE) process support.
  • Provides supervision and management of staff.

 

Education:

 

Bachelor's degree is required.

Experience:

 

Three (3) years directly related experience is required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
