The lab uses a combination of proteomics and molecular cell biology approaches to study cytokine signaling and fusion oncoproteins in childhood cancers. The ability to think and work independently is important for this position. The successful candidate will be working in the environment where several PhD-holding scientists are working on related projects, and therefore good interpersonal skills are also important.

Job Duties:
  • Perform advanced molecular cell biology, proteomics, and biochemistry research on cytokine signaling and fusion oncogenes in children’s cancers using a variety of techniques including: culture of primary and cancer cells, gene cloning, RNA and DNA isolation, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, and mouse xenograft. Analyze relevant literature and design and perform experiments independently. The ability to think and work independently is important for this position.
  • Analyze data, generate figures, and prepare manuscripts for publication.
  • Present data at scientific meetings.

Education:
Master's degree in related field is required. PhD in molecular cell biology preferred.

Experience:
Two (2) years of related experience is required. Three (3) years of postdoc experience and a record of high-quality research publications is preferred. Experience in mouse genetics or other specialized skills useful for our research would be a plus.
