Job Summary:

Under minimal supervision, works in basic science research laboratory, operates lab equipment, performs experimental procedures, collects and summarizes research data. Responsibilities include assisting or conducting a variety of scientific experiments and research projects of limited complexity, collecting, evaluating and interpreting data for clinical and diagnostic research.

Job Duties:

  1. Assists in conducting a variety of scientific experiments and research projects of high complexity, collecting, evaluating, and interpreting data.
  2. Assists investigator or higher level technician with research studies, experiments and assays including collection of data, preparation of solutions and set-up and maintenance of equipment.
  3. Performs database queries of historical data and organization of data into spreadsheet for use in research studies.
  4. Supervises other Research Assistants by maintaining an orderly and efficient research environment.
  5. Assists in the inventory of all reagents, supplies, and other materials in the research area.
  6. Ensures proper maintenance of equipment.

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a basic science or related field is required.

 

Experience:

Two (2) years experience is required.
