Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, responsible for providing customer service to patients by scheduling appointments, performing check-in and check-out procedures, verifying insurance benefits, obtaining authorization, and providing telephone triage.

Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm. 

Job Duties:
  1. Greets patients, verifies insurance coverage and eligibility, reviews new patient registration, obtains authorizations, assists in the collection of copays and enters new patient information.
  2. Maintains medical and insurance referral records and prepares patient charts.
  3. Ensures test results are filed.
  4. Handles and answers all phone calls and transfers calls to the appropriate departments as needed.
  5. Manages patient appointments according to the physician's schedules and/or protocols.
Education:
High school diploma or GED is required.

Experience:
One year of related clerical or healthcare related experience is required. Bilingual is preferred. 



Work hours are M-F, 8am to 5pm. 

 

Essential physical requirements are: climbing, lifting (up to 50 lbs) crouching talking, standing, walking, pulling, kneeling, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive hand motions, stooping, grasping, hearing and sitting in an office environment
