Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, collaborates with management, Patient Financial Services leadership, Faculty, third party providers and hospitals staff to maximize revenue cycle performance. Performs routine analyses and provides basic insight on trends and issues identified and provides the data and understanding necessary to support decision making, project prioritization, and improvements across the revenue cycle.

Job Duties:

  1. Collaborates closely with leadership and other team members to develop/run monthly/weekly/daily reporting packages to provide consistent and reliable support to internal and external customers.
  2. Works under supervision to assess and understand areas of need; helps identify issues and opportunities for improvement within the revenue cycle.
  3. Provides analytical support to projects and process improvement efforts across revenue cycle tasks.
  4. Assists in providing on the ground guidance and support to departments and clinics.
  5. Works with Patient Financial Services and Managed Care staff to ensure payers and third-party contractor payments and other terms are consistent with the terms of our agreements.
  6. May be assigned specific ongoing projects responsibilities such as coordinating adjustments to the Charge Master, or coordinate work with third party vendors/programs regarding missing charge opportunities or potential underpayments.
  7. Assists in the development and implementation of training to enable adoption of changes in revenue cycle and to sustain improvements.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Science or related required.
  •  Four (4) years of additional experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Experience:

  • One (1) year of revenue cycle experience, including AR Follow up, Registration, Scheduling, Eligibility, Insurance Verification (Full Benefits Review), Authorizations, and any revenue cycle patient or payer focused tasks is preferred.
  • Prior experience in pathology and clinical laboratory Revenue Cycle preferred.
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR system, MS Office Suite, and Revenue Cycle Database systems preferred.
