Job Summary:

 

This position is a fully grant-funded position working in the Department of Psychiatry supporting the Texas Mental Health Care Consortium Program. Under a board-approved supervisor, provides clinical and consultative services to prevent, assess, evaluate, and treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.

Job Duties:

 

  1. Provides counseling and case management services for patients using evidence-based practices.
  2. Performs crisis interventions as needed.
  3. Coordinates with referring providers and other professionals, family members as needed to engage patients in care.
  4. Provides liaison between the clinical team, clinical leadership, and other professionals involved in the patient’s care.
  5. Consults and assures continuity of care, convey assessment findings, and implements therapeutic plans.
  6. Prepares reports and other documentation following good clinical practice and institutional standards.
  7. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education:

 

  • A Master's degree or higher in professional counseling or related field is required.

Experience:

 

  • Up to one (1) year related experience. Prior experience working with adolescents with mental health diagnoses.
  • Knowledge and clinical experience with mental health issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a diagnostic assessment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain trust and rapport.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong organization and time management skills.

Certification/Licenses:

  • Registered with the Texas Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Mental Health Therapist intern is required.
