Job Summary:

 

This position is a fully grant-funded position working in the Department of Psychiatry supporting the Child Mental Health Care Program. Responsible for evaluating individual and family needs after receiving a diagnosis and create a custom treatment plan. Provides individual, couples, and family therapy to improve mental health and coping skills. Connect families and caregivers to institute and community resources needed to improve the quality of life.

Job Duties:

 

  1. After receiving a diagnosis, evaluating individuals and families' needs, creating a custom treatment plan, and providing individual, couples, and family therapy to improve mental health and coping skills.
  2. Facilitates and leads various therapeutic and support groups for patients and caregivers to develop appropriate coping mechanisms.
  3. Develops innovative support and community engagement programs for caregivers and patients to promote mental health and encourage programs' involvement.
  4. Coordinates with other Providers, agencies, and community resources to provide comprehensive care.
  5. Connects families and caregivers to institute and community resources needed to improve the quality of life.

Education:

 

  • A Master's degree in Psychology or related degree is required.

Experience:

 

  • Two (2) years of Counseling, Social Work, or related experience is required. Prior experience working with mental health adolescents. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Certifications/Licenses: 

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is required.
