Job Summary:

This position will coordinate the activities associated with small to medium IT projects or manage a subset of activities for a larger project. This may include participating in project planning, requirements definition, analysis, implementation, development of risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring the quality of a project through testing and validation activities. Associate project managers are responsible for one or more project management activities throughout the life of a project and may lead team members and contractors to achieve the project objectives and customer requirements. Associate project managers may participate in procurement activities related to their projects This is an excellent opportunity to participate in and contribute to the development and support of UT Health SA (HSC) mission critical systems, both applications and infrastructure.


 Job Duties:

1.  Work with customers to develop requests. Develop tasking statements and statements of work for small to medium IT projects and portions of plans for larger projects such as training, testing, and communication plans.

2.  Execute and manage multiple projects. Manage and control project activities in accordance with plans and schedules while making adjustments to improve project flow. Facilitate project flow by ensuring team members are aware of tasks and expected deliverables. Motivate team to build commitment to objectives and tasks. 

3.  Analyze business processes, IT processes, and system functionality to determine gaps and process inefficiencies. 

4.  Coordinate and facilitate communication across multiple stakeholders. 


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.


One (1) year of experience successfully managing a small project or phases of a larger project.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience implementing SAAS, COTS software, or internal development type projects. Working knowledge of various project delivery approaches (e.g. agile, waterfall, etc.).  PMP and/or Six Sigma certifications a plus.
