Environmental Health & Safety Specialist-Associate
Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, responsible for coordinating comprehensive program for Institutional compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
Job Duties:
- Performs and assists with comprehensive laboratory and facilities safety evaluations and fire safety inspections.
- Monitors, packages, transports, separates, and processes hazardous materials for appropriate disposal.
- Maintains program compliance reporting systems identifying and developing both corrective action and appropriate training for areas found to be deficient.
- Assists in the development of standard operating procedures and other written guidelines.
- Assists with data analysis to identify workplace health and safety risk trends, recommends, and monitors actions to mitigate risk and develop prevention strategies/programs.
- Documents corrective actions. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Applied Science, Health or Environmental Science is required.
Experience:
None
Preferred:
Prior experience in a laboratory setting.
