Job Summary:
Oversees all Academic Assessment activities and ensures compliance with all assessment and accreditation and reporting requirements. Executes and administers the research, collection, and verification of data that is used by the executive management team for long-range planning decisions. Updates and improves assessment related tools and measures, program student learning outcomes, program reviews, the Strategic Plan and the Total Program Systematic Evaluation Plan (TPSEP) of Academic Affairs. Serves as a representative of the institution, both internally and externally. Provides research and evaluation of institutional issues that may include programs such as: enrollment, alumni, assessment, faculty and financial aid. Selects appropriate statistical software packages and performs various analyses. Interfaces with and provides technical expertise on various databases and designs menu-driven protocols for data access. Assists in the creation of a variety of documentation systems. May conduct focus groups and interviews of faculty, staff, and students.


Job Duties:

1. Designs and implements evaluation strategies and interprets evaluation data resulting from those strategies related to co-curriculum elements, such as: peer and faculty mentoring programs, dual degree and degree distinction programs, community service learning experiences. Executes and administers the research, collection, and verification of data that is used by the executive management team for long-range planning decisions.

2. Provides oversight for operational aspects of the evaluation process, specifically within the curriculum management database. Selects appropriate statistical software packages and performs various analyses. Interfaces with and provides technical expertise on various databases and designs menu-driven protocols for data access. Assists in the creation of a variety of documentation systems. 

3. Designs and provides training for faculty on the topics of education research, evaluation, and assessment. Prepares findings from evaluation activities into reports. Collaborates to produce research reports for meetings, presentations, and publications. 

4. Contributes to collaborative research for continuous quality improvements and publications, working within the UME, with teaching faculty, and with colleagues from other institutions. Provides research and evaluations of institutional issues that may include programs such as: enrollment, alumni, assessment, faculty and financial aid. 

5. Updates and improves assessment related tools and measures, program student learning outcomes, program reviews, and the Strategic Plan of the assigned division.

6. Management duties include interviewing, selecting and training of employees; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; planning and directing work; appraising productivity and efficiency, handling complaints/grievances and disciplining when necessary.

7. Performs all other duties as assigned.


Education:

Masters Degree in a related field is required.


Experience:

Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in college or university institutional research, report system formulation and trend or longitudinal analyses, program reviews and accreditation processes, and assessing academic programs and student learning outcomes is required.


Supervisory Requirements :


Has the authority to direct the work of others, hire or fire employees, or provide recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other employee.


Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral Degree
