Job Summary:

Responsible for the management of accreditation activities and special projects for the Long School of Medicine related to LCME/SACSCOC compliance and monitoring. Develops and implements continuous quality improvement (CQI) strategies and directs a wide range of accreditation activities, including compliance monitoring, strategic planning, and other projects as needed. Serves as key liaison to LSOM leadership, Office of Undergraduate Medical Education Divisions, and other University offices regarding accreditation.

Job Duties:

  1. Plans, designs, implements, and manages ongoing accreditation processes for the Long School of Medicine, including divisional communications and project management.
  2. Develops continuous quality improvement strategies for School/University initiatives and establishes processes that align with accreditation standards and strategic plans.
  3. Provides program compliance oversight and guidance relative to the School and institutional accreditors’ benchmarks and fiscal and reporting requirements.
  4. Oversees the development of operational timelines and milestone estimates from teams; coordinates efforts between various stakeholders; coordinates project activities; assigns tasks, and provides guidance to personnel responsible for specific functions or phases of a project.
  5. Develops and maintains master timetable for accreditation reviews and reporting.
  6. Designs and coordinates data collection activities for accreditation reviews across institutional offices and synthesizes information for reporting to accreditation bodies.

Education:

  • A Master’s degree in higher education administration, public administration, public policy, legal affairs, or related field is required.

Experience:

  • Eight (8) years of experience in higher education administration or related field is required.
  • Substantial experience with project management in higher education or health professions setting is required.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills that include building and maintaining positive working relationships, within individual workgroups and across departments, through open communication and collaboration.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills and can accomplish goals and objectives with strict deadlines.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of all business areas (education, research, clinical care) – customers (students, trainees, faculty, community), resources, educational trends, and new advances.
  • Strong computer skills to include familiarity with Microsoft Office.
