Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Clinical IT Project Manager will be responsible for initiating, leading, planning, implementing, and coordinating activities across multiple projects with varying levels of complexity and impact on clinical systems, various interfaces, and ancillary systems interdependencies. Please note this is an onsite position located at our UT Health Physicians office in San Antonio, Tx. 

Job Duties:

  1. Executes and manages multiple projects and related activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  2. Implement and reinforce project management methodologies and tools across multi-functional IT teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.
  3. Oversees and assists with the strategic plan, monitoring, and adapting based on institutional portfolio, program, or project needs.
  4. Review project proposals, define business cases, scope & level of effort, identify goals & objectives, determine capital & support costs, outline risks, assumptions & constraints, verify priorities, identify deliverables, create project plans, and set timelines.
  5. Adhere to The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio standard operating policies & procedures such as Information Security vendor Person of Interest (POI) process, Request for Proposal (RFPs) processes, and other processes.
  6. Facilitates solutions to close gaps, solve problems, and improve processes while watching for trends in determining the root cause.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, scientific, technical, healthcare informatics, or mathematics field or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years’ experience in project management in a Healthcare or related setting working with Epic, leading industry Electronic Health Records (I.e., Cerner, McKesson, Meditech) or ancillary clinical systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant project management software and all Microsoft Office supporting products.
  • Prior experience successfully leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Self-motivated and result-oriented; takes ownership for deliverables and deadlines while collaboratively keeping team members focused and on tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to rapidly isolate and solve computer or application system problems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. 
  • Strong communication skills and public speaking ability to effectively communicate to leadership and internal/external partners.

Certifications:

  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
