Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, responsible for building and testing clinical information system processes. Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Understands and assists with creating and building workflows for clinical processes. Performs ongoing maintenance and testing of the software application and provides end user support. Interacts professionally with leadership, faculty, and staff. This position is responsible for the MyChart module of Epic, inclusive of system configuration and build. 

The Epic MyChart application analyst will provide first-tier support to their counterparts from other application disciplines and end-users to successfully meet the development and implementation objectives for assigned Epic applications.  This position is for self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, which means being able to change directions quickly, and demonstrate a passion and eagerness to learn new technologies. 

Job Duties:

  1. Performs a combination, but not necessarily all, of the following duties:
  2. Prepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submits recommendations for solutions.
  3. Serves as a liaison between the end-users and/or vendors to ensure appropriate system build, configuration, and functionality. 
  4. Prepares program specifications and flowcharts and coordinates the system's installation with operations and/or vendors.
  5. Communicates changes and provides quality assurance checks to ensure standard practices are followed.
  6. Develops, documents, and adheres to the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with related applications and systems. 
  7. Configures, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots clinical information systems.
  8. Utilizes and understands the application to support operations, while providing basic support, troubleshooting and project management support.
  9. Performs ongoing Epic master file build, configuration, and maintenance.
  10. Tests application components and contributes to test plan development with supervision.
  11. Research problems independently and gathers requirements from end users and managers when creating new system build.
  12. Perform all other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree is required; however, equivalent years of experience may be substituted for degree.


Up to one (1) year related experience is required.  Epic certification for assigned modules are required within eighteen (18) months of hire. Epic certification must be maintained per Epic Corporation standards.

Critical and analytical thinking proficiencies.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrate the ability to understand complex operational workflows and troubleshoot software issues.

Organizational management skills and ability to multitask.
