Job Summary:

The Business Intelligence Analyst will provide second-tier support to their counterparts from other application disciplines and support multiple stakeholders on a wide range of analytic and reporting projects contributing to the clinical enterprise's strategic direction. This position will help construct and gather current and historical data sets, metrics, and reports and create dashboards and insights for the clinical enterprise.

Duties:

  1. Analyze large datasets to discover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  2. Apply research and evaluation standards, descriptive statistics, and data management principles to translate complex data into meaningful content.
  3. Offer recommendations to support organizational performance improvement.
  4. Provide BI/Data Analytics thought leadership and consultative guidance to apprise stakeholders on data enhancement's value potential.
  5. Apply understanding of dimensional data modeling techniques, data warehousing, design, and concepts to produce balanced scorecard design and design of dashboards and KPI's (Key Performance Indicators).
  6. Analyze large data sets of structured, semi-structured unstructured data to discover data insights and collaborate with business partners to deliver business value.
  7. Design interactive and/or advanced visualizations (Tableau) that enhance analytics storytelling to support business decisions.

Basic Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a scientific, technical, healthcare informatics, mathematics, or a related field is preferred. Experience in place of education can be considered.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science, data warehousing, data lakes and marts, metadata management, and dimensional modeling.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Must be able to build and maintain a culture of collaboration and professionalism and positive working relationships within individual workgroups and departments.
  • Must be able to successfully execute multiple assignments simultaneously in a matrixed environment while under strict deadlines.
  • Must possess demonstrated critical and analytical thinking proficiencies and troubleshooting competencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with sophisticated analytics tools and programming languages (SAS, R, Python, Java, Spark, Hadoop, Alteryx, SQL); proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, QlikView, and others) strongly preferred.

Certifications:

  • Certified in Tableau, Epic Cogito Data Warehouse & Caboodle Data Model preferred.
  • The ability to become Epic certified for assigned modules within eighteen (18) months of hire required per Epic Corporation standards.
  • The ability to obtain additional certifications for assigned software analytical tools (such as Tableau) within thirty-six (36) months of hire required per Health-IT department standards.
