Job Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible for comprehensive pedorthic patient care. This includes patient assessment, formulation of a treatment plan, implementation of the treatment plan, follow-up and practice management.


Job Duties:

  1. Collaborates with physicians to evaluate patient's need for pedorthic services and assists in the recommendation of treatment plans. 
  2. Performs fitting and adjust device as need for optimal fit and function. Designs and fabricate pedorthic devices. 
  3. Educates patients on treatment plan and use of pedorthic devices. Provides follow-up care for patients as needed. 
  4. Utilizes Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to document clinical notes for patient care. 
  5. Ensures compliance with all blood borne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, adhering to all safety regulations and complying with all Medicare and government guidelines. 
  6. Works closely with Certified Prosthetist Orthotists (CPO), administrative staff, and management to ensure high patient satisfaction. 
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. 
Experience:
  • Completion of a National Commission on Orthotic and Presthetic Education (NCOPE) approved pedorthic pre-certification education course is required. 
  • Must be Certified Pedorthist by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, & Pedorthics (ABC). 
  • Experience with textiles, composites, material properties and filling casts, vacuum forming or laminating, establishing initial trims and other functions.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical devices and processes.
