Job Summary:

Aids in the negotiation and execution of sponsored research agreement, clinical study agreements, and other agreements. Works with faculty and staff to prepare agreements; negotiates contract terms and financial issues with for-profit and other sectors. Responsible for incoming agreements from receipt in the office to the execution of the contract. Ensures that all UT System and UT Health SA policies and procedures governing sponsored research and other agreements are followed.


Job Duties:

  1. Coordinates with faculty, staff, and leadership to prepare agreements; negotiates contract terms and financial issues with for-profit and other sectors to finalize agreements.
  2. Assesses workflow daily and adapting to the changing needs of the contract team. 
  3. Interacts with other Institutional departments involved in the research enterprise to resolve contract issues and confirm contract arrangements.
  4. Negotiates, finalizes, and recommends for the execution of clinical studies, confidential disclosures, testing, and laboratory studies agreements.
  5. Ensures all Institutional policies and procedures governing sponsored research and other agreements are appropriately followed into compliance with Institutional policies and procedures.
  6. Assist in the negotiation of contract terms and budgetary issues with various sponsoring financial entities, finalization, administration, and execution of various types of sponsored research agreements.


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree is required.


Experience & Skills:

  • Prior experience working in a similar or related field a plus (i.e. Clinical Study Agreements, Testing and Research Agreements, outgoing sub-awards, Material Transfer Agreements, and Confidential Disclosure Agreements, etc.) a plus.
  • Strong problem solving, time management and multi-tasking skills with demonstrated ability to meet and exceed deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team that serves the research contracting needs of the institution.
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace high-volume production group and able to work under both floating deadlines and managing priorities.
