Job Summary:

Part of a team oriented Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) administration group for the university. Provides information and fiscal accounting assistance to faculty and staff involved in the administration of awards from external funding sources. Provides project establishment, monitoring, and financial report preparation for HSC investigators and administrators in managing routine sponsored projects. Assures compliance with HSC policies and sponsor terms and conditions.


Job Duties:

1. Establishes project grant IDs (PGIDs) which will involve reconciling proposed budgets to award documents for state sponsored program awards.


2. Act as liaison to Principal Investigators (PIs) and department administrators with administration of their awards to include preparation of financial reports as per award guidelines.

3. Oversee close-out for routine awards ensuring each expired PGID is closed out properly and that correct financial reports are submitted timely according to sponsor requirements.


4. Assists in the re-assessment and development of sponsored programs policies, procedures and processes, including internal controls and compliance activities. 

5. Performs all other duties as assigned.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.


Experience:

None



Preferred Qualifications: 
Ability to manage workload in an effective manner to meet internal and external deadlines. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (verbal, written and electronic). Proficient in MS Excel and Word, as well as experience with budgets and financial report preparation. PeopleSoft Financials experience.
